When it comes to insurance claims, most policies require the homeowner to have regularly maintained the property in order for claims to process smoothly.

An example of this may be a component of the home such as the roof, where the homeowner is required to have general maintenance, and for the roof to be in good order prior to making a successful claim on a roof leak or similar situation. The insurance company will generally inspect the property once the claim is lodged, and if there is any moss growth or other interference that proves that the leak occurred due to not maintaining the roof, then this could hinder the claim until it is remediated.
